Here are some of the questions that come up often with our customers:
How long will an overseas printing job take from start to finish?
Press proofs typically will take 7-9 days to arrive for your approval. Once we receive your approval of the press proofs, the printing, binding, finishing, hands-on labor, and packaging can all be done within 5-7 days. Ocean freight will take approximately 14 days and rush delivery by air will take 3-5 days. Customs clearance and delivery to specified addresses take an extra 3-5 days. On many occasions partial air-shipments have been included into rush projects. Fulfillment of an initial shipment would include either shipping from our overseas factories via air freight or through common carriers such as FedEx, UPS, DHL.
What type of file format do you accept for overseas printing?
With overseas printing we accept all the standard file formats from QuarkXpress, InDesign, Illustrator, Pagemaker, Photoshop, etc... Depending on the size of the files, our clients provide us with CD's, DVD's or portable hard drive(returned to client upon completion of project). PDF format is preferred with a HARD COPY of the original work including special notes and instructions. For additional questions about file formats for overseas printing please contact us.
Is there a minimum order for overseas printing?
Although most of our clients have had projects with quantities over 5,000, at LogicTrade we can estimate and accomplish any sized job. Usually jobs that require more hands-on labor(spiral & double wire-o binding, custom cutting & finishing, etc...) save the most with overseas printing due to inexpenisve labor costs; regardless of the quantities.
What can I do to assure quality without a press check?
No need to guess what your final product will look like through digital or blue-line proofs. LogicTrade is one of the few printers who can promise to deliver an overseas printing proof directly from our overseas printing press. Your company will have the ability to sign off on a finished sample BEFORE the entire print run begins. This helps establish the level of expected quality and satisfaction. Thus a press proof reduces the risk of layout and design errors, color errors, trim errors, misaligned coatings, etc... Finished press proofs are included at no additional cost.
Are overseas printing prices really that good?
On the average, our customers can save from 30% to 50% off their printing costs without sacrificing quality. Some of our clients have saved over 70%! Cost often determines the level of quality and customization for each project. Lower costs create an opportunity to produce a higher-quality product(such as additional PMS colors, spot coatings, specialty binding)
Shipping costs will kill the project, right?
Each of our estimates are detailed and include file delivery, color proofing and finished samples, prepress, printing, press checks, bindery, production, ocean freight, importing, customs, and ground transportation. So essentially, with shipping included in the estimate our clients have saved from 30% to 50% off their printing costs domestically. With these savings our clients have the ability to add additional colors, specialty binding, higher quality paper selections, spot coatings, die cuts, thus increasing the overall quality of their overseas printing.
Can LogicTrade deliver the job to a destination I specify?
Yes. We will carefully manage your project from start to finish and ensure "door-to-door" delivery to one or many destinations that you specify.
Can you handle fulfillment & bulk-mailing?
Although LogicTrade specializes in overseas printing, over the past few years we have established business to business relationships with various mail houses who specialize in fulfillment.
